I don't live in CA so it's not my business, but I would have loved to see McClintock in office. He sounds like the one to fix CA's economic problems and he certainly shares my values.

However I am ready to support the Governator now that he is in by such a large mandate. Arnold is a good man, and he will try his best to do a good job. He doesn't need the money or the fame, so he's not doing this for his own gain. Also we need to remember that this is CA, a different planet from the rest of the nation. If Arnold had straight conservative social policies as his platform, he'd be an outcast in LALA land, certainly in SF.

So we've got this Governator in office, with an R next to his name. I hope he is good for CA and for the Pubs in general. I am already enjoying the lamentations of the dems and nuts as their world teeters ever closer to the brink :)

I am a Californian, I voted for McClintock and I agree with you. The more public support a governor has, the less "special interest" support he needs. For those of us on the starboard side of the party, its time to move amidships. However that does not mean it won't hurt to throw an Arnold bed-wetter overboard once in a while. Keeps the panic down and helps set a true course when the wind is from port.
