TOM MCCLINTOCK DAILY EDITION - 10/8/03 - GOING DARK!
Posted on 10/08/2003 7:10:21 AM PDT by Rabid Dog
As many of you know this has been a local, regional, national news and views thread. I want to thank all of you that have respected its intent. When I first started this thead, I was on the fence between Arnold and Tom. Within a week, it became clear that Tom was the man I could respect and support.
Within a month it became clear that the CA G.O.P. was not an organization I could respect and support and so I have switched parties and will be changing my screen name to Rabid Dog.
Tomorrow I am entering Freeper Detox and will be drying out for a week or so but am looking foward to discussing the changes in California under the leadership of our new governor - ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER!!

...it doesn't change the fact that his stance on tax/spend/regulation is nearly diametrically opposite of that of Davis & Cruz That "fact" cannot withstand serious scrutiny. It is probably based upon your interpretation of Arnolds gloriously vague assurances. Where he has made policy choices and placed his plans in writing, he is more collinear with the left than he is the Republican mainstream.

Where does your deep distrust of everyone who thinks differently than you come from? It's almost pathological.
If you intend to have a future in politics, either behind the scenes or out in public, you should learn a few things from watching this recall election.
People want HOPE. If you give them scowls and disapproval, they will tune you out.
If you scold people and order them to follow your principles, you get nothing more than those who already support you.
Watch winners for a while, and see what they offer.

hands you one of my special "crying towels", I usually reserve for soreloser liberals. Could you people all cheer up, at least GRAY DAVIS IS GONE and BUSTAMANTE DID NOT WIN.
So many times after the 2000 Presidential election, I heard so many liberals console themselves with lowering their expectations for what President George W. Bush would accomplish. Please do not act like them. WE SHOULD HAVE GREAT HOPES FOR ARNIE..HE IS GOING TO NEED OUR SUPPORT!

Thanks for the lecture.

Our founding fathers did manage to stop people from being stupid, for a while at least. Only about 10% of the people supported the revolution, yet they were able to overcome the "tyranny of the majority" that was loyal to the king.

"If you scold people and order them to follow your principles, you get nothing more than those who already support you." ...she scoldingly ordered.

Wonderful advise. Well said. And a good lesson.

I'll take your towel for now. However, you better have more available when the Gropinator puts the screws to Californians as a RAT normally does.
To: EternalVigilance
Sounds like good advise to me. Not scolding at all. No name calling or anything.

Where does your deep distrust of everyone who thinks differently than you come from? From years of watching liberals and political hacks operate.
To: SONbrad; redlipstick
If that isn't scolding, I don't know what is.

Tom lost the last big game that he was in. Didn't win at all. He was replaced by someone who could.
THE team won. The team that your hero was on. He is not leaving the team. I wonder why you are. In a way you are abandoning him when he needs your help and support the most.
I hope you find a team that you enjoy being part of. Expansion teams have it tough but they do sometimes develop into winners! Good luck.

Gosh, Tom supporters were scolded all the time. A vote for Tom is a vote for Bustamante!
To: SONbrad
Gee, Norm. I guess you just showed the disunity that is running here didn't you.
I happen to like McClintock and hoped that we could be united. So much for that.
As for being here. Don't presume to tell me where I can or can not post.
And you still don't see how your continuing to rehash the campaign and election outcome on this thread do more to stir up disunity than to overcome it?
At least my cats know where to poop. ;-) They are independents like me, after all. LOL

I'll still be supporting Tom. The greenbacks are the same even though the wallet might be a different color.
To: EternalVigilance
Uh. Read it again. Perhaps if you weren't in such a nasty mood you would see it for what it is. Try to relax, take a deep breath. Maybe shut your eyes for a few minutes.
Feel better?
By the way, if you want to see the difference between this advise and "scolding", I'd be glad to scold you! LOL!

I hear Flagstaff, Arizona is a nice place to live, Reno is still high on my list as well. ;-)
I would opt for Hawaii but it's too darn expensive.

Norm.
I will say it again, for about the fourth time on this thread. I like Tom. I think he is a good man and would be a great Senator. He came across to me as more of an administrator than an executive.
He didn't win this thing and you need to get over it. I was NOT bashing anaything on this thread except the attitude that you guys have. It is really shameful and I do believe that Tom will handle this better than you are.
