Statement by Governor Dean on the California Recall
"Today's recall election in California was not about Gray Davis or Arnold Schwarzenegger. This recall was about the frustration so many people are feeling about the way things are going. All across America, George Bush's massive tax cuts for the wealthy are undermining state budgets, causing cutbacks in services and increases in local property taxes. Were recalls held in every state, it's quite possible that 50 governors would find themselves paying the price for one president's ruinous national economic policies. Tonight the voters in California directed their frustration with the country's direction on their incumbent governor. Come next November, that anger might be directed at a different incumbent...in the White House."Posted by Mathew Gross at 11:18 PM

I'm not sure what Howie Dean is smoking, probably the same stuff he was smoking in New Haven in the late '60s and early '70s. It's a shame the Bob Newhart Show is history. Howard could play one of the characters, or maybe two or three of them!

McAwfull set the "It's Bush's fault" mantra about 45 minutes ago.
Marching orders issued. Troops fallin in line. Yada, yada.

Bwahahahahahahahaha (Oh the desperation)
From DU:
Discussions about the California Recall Election (Oct 04th 2003)
Democratic Underground does not exist to to provide a platform for our political opponents or their supporters, especially this close to an election. If our members want to listen to Republican spin, they can turn on the television. But they don't expect to see it on this message board.
If you support this ridiculous power-grab against the democratically elected Governor of California, then you should do all of us a favor and keep that particular opinion to yourself.
Even if you swear that you're going to vote against the recall, we still have no interest in hearing how you "admire" our opponents or how you feel "ashamed" about attacks against them.
The moderators have the authority to keep DU free from right-wing spin this close to an election.

These guys are grabbing at straws. Today Gray said the California voters would do the right thing. Now it's because everyone's mad a Bush. Well, in August I was in California and a left winger couldn't tell me strongly enough how much he hated Bush. And guess what. He was going to vote against the recall. I believe those people who hate Bush voted for Gray and against the recall. If people voted Gray out because they're mad at Bush then why didn't Barbra Streisand vote for the recall. We all know how much she hates Bush.

So they're telling their minions to enjoy being losers.

That is so funny...DU. So much for free speech. In other words don't come on our site and admit defeat or remind us that we're going down the tubes.

If you support this ridiculous power-grab against the democratically elected Governor of California, then you should do all of us a favor and keep that particular opinion to yourself. Only a mind-numbed, Kool-Ade drinking democrat would consider a constitutionally legal recall, with petitions signed by upwards of a million voters a "ridiculous power-grab."

Yep. The Rats have their faxed talking points and marching orders. I wonder if they even realize how laughable their preposterous equivocations seem to people with rational thought processes.
