Usually when we see an angel from God in the Old and New Testament their first reponse to man is "fear not". God's angels seek to comfort and reassure man before delivering their message.
The spirit that seized Mohammed was anything but kind. Mohammed thought he was possessed by an evil spirit. But it was his wife that convinced him that it was an angel. I think this is one time, he shouldn't have listened to her.

Post 79 is correct, 78 is wrong. It was Mohammed who thought he was possessed by an evil spirit not his wife.

Absolutely agree. Trust me on this, I think Muhammad got a visit from Gabriel about as much as he got a visit from Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin.
