How were the last two guys from Texas and Arkansas any different?At least they had a publicly recorded history of policy advocacy/initiative and political effectiveness. But, this is the least of Clark's problems in my mind.

Sorry, your comment was about Dean. You're right about Clark.
Do you see my point though? There's a strange desire for people to pick a "non-politician" for presdent, or a least someone from outside Washington. You were arguing that you can more easily judge a politician with a voting record you can examine.
Did Bush's father have a voting record besides that as VP when he ran? Were people saying he was going to be a Reagan puppet or something? (serious question I'm to young to know)
