Why didn't Arnold say anything like "Gray Davis, You've Been Terminated!"

He had to be a gracious winner. Now, it is time to straighten out the runaway legislature.

Davis had conceded, so there's no point in giving the Democrat attack machine more fuel for their fire. You want that soundbite preceding every talking head session with Jesse Jackson, Bill Clinton, and Maxine Waters?

Not that it means anything, but Santa Barbara County voted with a 14% margin for the recall, with all of its votes counted. It voted with a 1% margin for Gore, while the state was plus 12% for Gore. That means Santa Barbara was 11% more GOP than the state in 2000, which means the recall carries by 3%. But that assumes LA county will vote more Dem than the state in the same way as 2000, which it will not. It will be more pro recall vis a vis the state I suspect. That one county will be the pad that will make what would be a tight recall election, into something not so tight. We shall see, since the today vote in LA County has not come in. The absentee vote was split in that county, which makes the swing there from 2000 considerably more than the state swing as a whole.
