Just went to take a look at my local polling station. On the outside door they had the complete voter list stapled up with those voting by 11am lined out. Seems to me it would be easy for anyone to take a look and get a name and addres then go into the station to make a false vote....even repeat this later in the day. Any comments....? I guess I could take a pic of this for the record....maybe hang around outside to see if anyone does this.... By all means go back there ASAP and get a picture of it. Perhaps videorecording might also be wise, since it has a timestamp.
There could very well be a good reason for their posting that info, but off the top of my head I'm having trouble coming up with one. Better safe than sorry, get some documentation, then if someone else hasn't posted a good reason why this is innocuous, then forward it to the election officials, local media, and the Arnold and McClintock campaigns.
OK...I went back and checked at the polling station....this is SOP.
And they were monitoring the list for any "spurious" activity...
So I guess we can stand down for now.
Those lists posted outside are what us poll inspectors check for the Get Out the Vote program and for keeping tabs on the Republican turnout... Must admit, I saw a lot of phone numbers I didn't expect to see displayed.
