Beautifully written, reasoned and substantiated... I really appreciate your taking the time to provide this to us.
As far as critics saying that the lesser of two evils is not an appropriate way to decide, my philosophy is "Everything I need to know about voting I learned from the Parable of the Talents".
Even with the best of intentions, burying a vote is not at all a worthy action when there is no possibility of yielding good for fellow humans. My vote will always be invested where I believe it yields the highest return in advancing good in our society.
Your sincerity and dedication shine throughout the essay and thank you again... I'm saving it :-)

Say, that's good. I would probably need to steal it if there were ever a second edition!
Thanks for the encouragement. Response certainly has been varied.

I am finally forming words to explain what I see as total hypocrisy on the Arnold/McClintock thing...
When Bill Clinton groped women, we said that was a reason to state he had no morals and should be kept from office. We were right of course, but the Dems said, "So What?"
Now, Arnold is proven to grope women, the Dems say he is unfit to hold office because of that, and the Repubs are saying, "So What?"
Who is the bigger hippocrite here? Us with Arnold? Or the Dems, with Clinton?
And don't bring up Juanita, groping is still groping, and is certainly a reason to say someone is unfit, regardless if there is a worse charge after that, groping is still a reason to say someone is unfit!
And a guy like McClintock, with no baggage, and great ideas and a wholesome attitude and outlook, is considered not worthy of voting for or supporting as a party.
Is it any wonder why the Republicans are called THE STUPID PARTY?

As far as I can tell, the conventional interpretation of the parable of the talents is that the talents represent natural G*d-given abilities (not ballots). The reward is immortality in heaven (not a Republican in office).
Please give me or help me decipher your interpretation. From my standpoint, either it does not directly apply, or else applies, but in some manner other than your apparent use of it in favor of Arnold.
