Actually what is happening is that "Conservatives" won't help "Liberals" (actually moderates) get elected and with the result that only Socialists get elected. (That is the murder/suicide pact.)
Parties are coalitions, and if the conservatives won't form them with the moderates, then the moderates will form them with the "Progressives", with the result that no part at all of the conservative agenda gets passed.

Freedom itself is on the line. People like Schwarzenegger, unless I'm very wrong, aren't going to help maintain those freedoms left, let alone restore those freedoms lost.

Preposterous...until Riordan, conservatives had helped liberal Republicans to our own detriment.
Pete Wilson owed conservatives for his election, and he stabbed us in the back.
Riordan was a deeper commitment to that same betrayal and he didn't even try to hide the fact.

The "far-right" is the only thing that distinguishes republicans from democrats! You are wrong. There is the right, left and center. The two goals of conservatives are 1. stop the leftist agenda and 2. enact the right wing agenda. Electing a moderate republican will stop the leftist agenda which is half the battle. After this has been accomplished, then you can go for the right wing agenda.

For nearly a decade, the far right has trapped the Republican Party in a murder-suicide soap opera, putting forth right-wing candidates for statewide office who can't win elections. The far right, which is better-organized and willing to fight dirtier than Republican moderates, has crippled its party. The Democratic Party of California has benefited enormously. The party has risen to its greatest power in more than 20 years. The last thing partisan Democrats want now is a moderate Republican governor who could tame the ultra-conservative tail that wags the dog in the California Republican Party. This statement alone it shows how afraid the Dems are of AS. Thats why they are dumping everything they have to shut him down.
I fail to see/understand why AS is such a threat to the Dems? Could it be that he wants to castrate the cash cow and ask some really tough questions.?

Now time for Buster to quit the race and some liberal idiot like Martin Sheen or Mike Douglas to step up to run (ala New Jersey) Who cares if they are to late to join the game, I am sure the courts would ignore the law for them in Ca like they did in NJ.

Ahnold pees in the shower! And he picks his nose! I heard someone saw him kick a cat once too! I'm waiting for the press to report that back in 1984 Arnold was going around town brutally killing women with the name Sarah Connor and shooting up a police department after telling the cop at the watch desk, "I'll be back.".

Arnold prepares to deflect
the next desparate slime attack from the
panicking Gray-out camp who fear
their incompetent leader will be Gray-outted
as the Arnold Camp confidantly pushes their front lines
forward to California's capital city,
Sacramento, to "clean house".

Gray Davis did something something noone in the entire GOP could manage. He's turning CA back into a competitive electoral state. This could have HUGH implications for '04. SERIES! This could cause the Dims to spend much needed and increasingly harder to obtain $ defending their home turf state. Divide their $ and conquer the Ass party.

the truth is, that Davis bought ads trashing Riordan during the Republican primary The truth is also that the Indians are supporting McClintock and the democrat spokespeople, Art Torres and others are praising McClintock and bashing arnold at every opportunity. Not that this is McClintock's fault.

I'd LOVE to see my former party, the Democrat Party, have to spend MONEY in that state!! I am very proud of the Maryland Republicans. First in 2000, we made gore run campaign ads here and made him do a campaign stop in October. Then in 2002, we made Kennedy Townsend spend 12 million, 8 million was from out of state, to run for governor and lose. It does not get any better than that. I can't help but feel we might have helped some others R's in 2002 by sucking up 8 million from out of state.
