As a matter of fact, I do know someone who was in jail for simple possession, but he couldn't afford anything like Betty Ford or anything resembling a decent lawyer, so he got spend a few weeks in jail.

As far as celebrities, well lets see, Robert Downey comes to mind. I don't usually keep track of Hollywood, so I'm no expert on who spent how much time for what.

Robert Downey was arrested for cocaine and heroin, both illegal drugs. I'm thinking that those illegal drugs are treated differently than the manufactured opiates such as codeine, hydrocodone, oxycodone, etc. You think? Plus, Downey was found in other circumstances.
