Addressing for the first time allegations that he's under investigation in Florida for abusing prescription painkillers, talk radio icon Rush Limbaugh promised his audience that he'd tell them everything he knew "as soon as I know what I'm up against."
"The story in Florida, it really is an emerging situation," Limbaugh said at the top of his Friday broadcast. "I watch what's being reported on television and it changes from morning to morning, hour to hour, day to day.
He continued:
"I don't know yet what I'm dealing with here, folks. I really don't know the full scope of what I'm dealing with. But when I get all the facts, when I get all the details of this, rest assured that I will discuss this with you and tell you how it is."
Limbaugh pledged, "I'll tell you everything there is - well - maybe more than you want to know."
Sounding confident and strong, Limbaugh said he'd received more than 25,000 supportive emails since he was hit with twin controversies over his comments to ESPN and allegations from a former housekeeper that she obtained for him thousands of painkilling pills over the last four years.
"I can't tell you how much I appreciate the notes, all of the expressions of support. It means everything to me, as has your support over these many years," the top talker said.

Discussing might lead to criminal charges and could be considered an admission of guilt. You need to be a lawyer to figure out that it would stupid for him to discuss anything unless he knows what is going on from a legal standpoint.
To: Sir_Ed
Well, if I were accused of taking illegal drugs, I wouldn't say "I don't know what I'm up against," I'd just bloody well say "I HAVE NEVER TAKEN ANY ILLEGAL DRUGS!"
OK you made you point enough. So he is likely guilty, then what? You aren't listening to him anyway so why do you care?

Too bad Bob Grant isn't on from 12-9! Bob Grant is the BEST! Amen to that! Bob Grant stands head and shoulders over Rush.

This will be Rush's admission:
"I experimented with painkillers, but I never swallowed."

Hummm, NE holding on to story for 2 years, simply shocking they didn't want to splash news then on a conservative:
Latest on Drudge Report:
BUSH EXPRESSES SUPPORT OF LIMBAUGH; HOST TO RETURN TO AIRWAVES AT NOON; ENQUIRER HELD STORY FOR TWO YEARS
Excerpted:
"MORE
Meanwhile, the NATIONAL ENQUIRER is contemplating releasing on to the Internet audio tapes of Limbaugh made by his former housekeeper. The ENQUIRER carried allegations made by the housekeeper claiming Limbaugh bought prescription painkillers off the blackmarket.
The NATIONAL ENQUIRER held back reporting on Limbaugh for nearly two years, a publishing source tells the DRUDGE REPORT.
The tabloid's editors felt more confidence after police began an investigation.

Sounding more confusing as this story unfolds......

I understand what you are saying. It does hurt the party. Henry Hyde had affairs? I didn't know. I don't keep up with a lot of the talk.
*off topic* a customer just came in singing, "trailers for sale or rent...rooms to let 50 cents..." If I have to be tortured by this silly song the rest of the day, I hope someone else is too :)

So he's guilty and doing just what a guilty man would do Too early to assume guilt - even if it appears that way. Rush lives to see his name in the media; with all the recent publicity he is having ego orgasms - don't look for him to end all this quickly.

IMHO I believe that Rush is just wayyyyy too shrewd for this to have happened to him. I think he minds his p & q's because he doesn't have a choice. Every demolib in the country is looking for a way to take him down and stifle the air wave he created.
I don't doubt at one time, he was required to take pain medication, after all he did have surgery. But, this whole thing smells like a month old tuna sandwich! First, Rush, instead of getting a script from a Dr., trusts his maid, whom he has only known (and not very well) a short time, to acquire prescriptions for him. His maid! Instead of a Dr. by their own oath, can not reveal anything about Rush.
I don't think he is saying anything right now because he has to wait and see exactly what this woman has presented to the police. Hell, if I wore a wire and knew what information or conversation I needed to get out of someone to make them look bad, I don't think it would be too hard. He could have had a normal every day conversation with her about her picking up something for him.
Ex:
Rush " Hey, ugly maid, did you get the stuff for me (Rush is referring to the order from Jack in the Box)
Ugly Maid " Yeah, I got the stuff"
Rush "Did you get it all?" (cause last time she forgot the fries)
Ugly Maid "Yeah, I got just what you asked for...all of it"
After all, she acquired immunity from the police so she can't be charged with jack diddly! What about the scenario that this woman gets busted for possession and in order to save her own ugly mug, she gives the police a line (just figuratively) and tells them she has a bigger fish to fry...what are they gonna do???

Oh so the fact that cops wire someone is proof? The NE story is that she taped the conversations on her own. I understand they were telephone conversations. You are trying to frame Rush with iformation which is completly unrelated.

"Hell, even Ronald Reagan was married and divorced
AS well he should have, I understand his wife treated him very badly."
Yeah, but read up how Reagan treated his kids. Worse than most people treat their pets. And that is not from hack libs trying to make Reagan look bad, but from all sources that ever examined Reagan's family life. Just like with Rush & pills, I wish it were not so, but it is what it is.

It will not stop me listening to and following Rush Limbaugh's commentary, nor will it change my opinion of him. For years, Rush has been referring to drug users as "maggot infested" condemning them as immoral, and supporting their imprisonment.
For years, Rush has attacked, with total justification, the evasions, lies, and denials of the Democrats.
Now it appears that Rush may be a drug user himself and he has responded to allegations with the same sort of evasions and non-denial denials he criticized in others.
Are you really so gullible you don't know stinking hypocrisy when you see it?
To: ItsTheMediaStupid
You are trying to frame Rush with iformation which is completly unrelated. Yes, yes....it's all about me. I'm trying to frame him. Are there any other problems in the world that you would like to pin on me? How about the Hindenburg?...damnit, the smoking section was full...how was I supposed to know that that one particular non-smoking section was there because of the hydrogen?! And yes, I gave Nero the violin...so sue me.

Total BS! There has been plenty of times people have said NO COMMENT and people like you call up to persecute them. Rush's answer has always been to wait till all of the information is in. I just love the way you demoncrats come here to bash Rush!
