Vanity: Rush Limbaugh Rumor Control.
Posted on 10/02/2003 5:28:15 PM PDT by Partisan Hack
Two rumors floating around:
1. Rush is off the air tomorrow and on "vacation" until further notice.
2. He has hired famed defence attorney Roy Black.
Can anyone confirm that the above are true or not?

*** I would bet that his addiction came from using some of his mother's pain pills for whatever reason during or after her death and resulted in addiction. This led to his deafness.***
Please stop this speculation.

***Good thing Rush has a lot of $$$$ saved cause his career is toast.***
The same was said when he lost his hearing. Wait for facts.

I think NBC news reported he hired the lawyer.

This bitch committed a felony. She should be prosecuted at once.
What about all the other people caught up in the WOD?

Shouldn't we wait until all the facts are in? Headlines do not make a case. BTW & FWIW, I am not a strong fan of Rush.

Excuse me, but I think this whole thread is dedicated to speculation and I reserve my right to participate despite your polite protestation. It is speculation based upon an almost daily, 6 year long listenership of this man's show and extensive reading and thought on the subject.

This whole story has been shopped around before. The links between the painkiller usage and hearing loss were EVERYWHERE on FR in the last 24 hours. Rush's own docs had a press conference when his hearing loss was 1st disclosed and they said it was familial, not due to his radio job or drug use or abuse.
Most Rx drug addicts don't buy the stuff on the street if they can get a doc to Rx it for them. Rush certainly has the means to go to a different doc in every town and get a legal RX himself. He could also fly down to Mexico for that matter.
This maid last worked for Rush in 2001. I can't give a link to that info because I have heard and read so much today, but it's been in print and on the radio. Anyway, all of this supposedly happened from 1998-2001.....so why was it shopped and sold to the Inquirer now?
We need to ask ourselves what we are missing while we pay attention to this steaming pile.

No it's not. There are a million of us that would pony up $10 a month to listen to him webcast. That's a $120 million a year, genius.
That's one of my gripes about Rush
He has 15 hours a week to cover the news etc yet he charges $$$$ for a news letter and for his web site
I learn MORE on this site for a yearly contribution and the owner of this site doesn't even come close to Limbaugh's finances
In addition with all his $$$$ if he was really interested in promoting the conservative cause he would make his news letter available at cost or even under write the cost
You want to send him $10 be my quest
I'll send it and more to this siteat least I know the owner ain't livin like a king

Why now? I think the maid just got busted in a big drug ring sweep and got immunity. So she is making a sleazy buck, which is hardly a big career move. Sounds like she has the goods though. Not even the Enquirer would do this unless they could back it up.

I still have faith in Rush. He has not let me down. It has been years since I expected even near perfection from anybody. I appreciate the good that Rush has done for this country and hope he continues with his conservative contributions. Given this all out assault on republicans, I hope the party gets over it's compassion mode and strikes back at the RATS while it will still do some good. Turning the other cheek has been overdone.

So did I! I signed up for 2 years.

There's much more to this than Rush Limbaugh. Bush and his administration have been under attack, then Rush and now Arnold.
There is a story we are missing because our media is pre-occupied with bashing anyone who resembles a Republican.

I don't give a rip what he said about some rich football player and even if he got hooked on drugs, its not enough for me to throw him down the stairs. Lots of people get hooked and kick it. They'll have to do a lot better than this to get me to turn away from Rush.

Being a political junkie of a conservative nature, I can say there have been dark political times for me, mainly during the Clinton years. I only needed to tune to Rush Limbaugh to lighten my load, because he spoke what I felt and unlike me he reached millions. He offered hope, wit and reasoning to his listeners and he brought many of us together when I know I felt isolated in my political beliefs. If Rush has an illness/addiciton, I can accept that. If he needs time or vacation, I can accept that too. I know he will be honest and candid when the time is right for him, that is his nature.

Why would anybody obtain legal drugs illegally, when they could just go to their doctor and get them legally? No prescription plan necessary. Heck, Rush could probably buy the drug company that makes the stuff.

Once again the liberal leftist Democommies throw a charge at a conservative without any proof using a "maid" with a questionable background. These political terrorists MUST discredit conservatives and what better way than to take down a conservative icon like Rush. They feed the liberal media whore machine and let them drum this lie into the minds of America 24/7! Just look at how this week unfolded. The CIA leak story and the Schwarzenegger woman grope story and the Rush drug story.
The RATS are in PANIC MODE!

His website says he will be on tomorrow at noon.
I don't see that it says that.
From Rush's site
Thursday Guest Host: KFBK Sacramento's Tom Sullivan
Tom filled in on Thursday while Rush gave his long-anticipated keynote address to the National Association of Broadcasters convention. Rush returns tomorrow at noon EST! In the meantime, enjoy these stories from Tom's stack of stuff...

I really think that this story is pure heaping BS. Rush is too smart to do this. He can do things the legal way. If he needed meds, he could have them with out the sleaze of the maid at Denny's and the cigar box. The 'evidence' is in e-mails?? Give me a break. Anyone can send an e-mail from my computer if they have access to it.
They don't have to prosecute Rush to smear him, they just have to keep telling lies.
