Please pray for a 7 yr old with Leukemia

I would like to ask for prayer for Jacquelyn. She's 7 yrs old and was diagnosed with luekemia in late June. The prognosis isn't that great, the doctors give her no more than a 50/50 chance to survive. She has been taking chemotherapy treatments every other week and has been a trooper and so brave.

She is supposed to be having another treatment this week but she can't because she is too sick. She has a blood fungus and some kind of infection and she's in extreme pain. They have her on morphine. I'm just so concerned about her. She's such a beautiful little girl, so full of life and personality and I know she's in God's hands but we all love her so much we want her here with us.

My daughter-in-law said that she teared up in front of her the other and Jacquelyn hugged her and told her don't worry I'll be okay. Saturday, they let my grandchildren see her and they read her a book but she's been too sick most of the time to have any visitors except her parents.

I ask everyone I see to pray for her and I know how faithful so many of you are and I'd like you to add your prayers.

I wish I had a picture of her, you'd all fall in love with her immediately.

Based on what you posted, it sounds like they are pursuing a "conservative" treatment. Considering the prognosis, and the pain she is in, you will have to be very aggressive in seeking this treatment for her. I don't know about the medication's use in the U.S., but research indicates it was highly successful with other children who have typhlitis related to chemotherapy for leukemia.

Please let me know what the doctors say. You will have to be her advocate in this case, and sometimes doctors do what is familiar rather than what is effective. On the other hand, they may already be administering it, although it would be quite surprising if they were. It can't hurt to ask, and this application of the medication is fairly new.

I am just so sad to hear of Jaquelyn's pain. God is God, and I am asking for a miracle, believing that He can do it.

Not being a part of the family and with her so far away, I can only do so much but when I have made suggestions in the past her mother has asked the medical staff.

I did find an e-mail to the cancer department at the University hospital and I wrote a short note and and pasted the information that was on those sites and I asked them to look at it. I didn't just post the links in case they just ignored them. It probably wasn't the right place to send it but it was worth a try.

In the meantime I will do what I can do and that is pray.

Oh Lord, you blessed children most. Please take away this baby's pain. Help the drugs flowing through her system ease all. Let her sleep and wake refreshed. Your will be done. God, please bless her and her family and give the peace.

In Jesus' name. Amen.

(It took a seven year old to break my resolve never to post to a prayer thread after the Richard deal, Bless you tiki for caring, I would hope someome as sweet as you would be around my babies should they get this sick)

Dear God, please help little Jacqueline. Take away her pain and grant the prayers that are being offered for her. Keep her safe by day and by night.

Assist her doctors who administer to her, guide them in her treatment and give them wisdom in doing so.

Please bring relief to Jacqueline and her family in their time of need. We pray for Your mercy for the benefit of this small and loving little girl.

Thank you God. In Your name we pray.

Prayers for the precious 7 year old.

FWIW . . . was just going to say the above but felt the following and decided to risk sharing it. Please take it to The Lord and see whatever of it may be of Him.

I have a strong sense that her suffering not only has touched the heart of our Lord Jesus Christ but has been from the beginning an intimate connection of great intensity and intimacy with His heart on levels and dimensions that we have little clue of and which she would be unable to articulate in any finite human language terms.

Her conscious awareness and humanness may not be more than slightly tuned in to such at this point but her spirit--I don't know how to put it--her spirit has been special from the beginning and has--difficult to express--her spirit has had access, dialogue with the Loving, Joy-filled, intensity, wisdom and even knowledge of our Lord Jesus in ways, aspects, dimensions quite beyond her years and experience. Nevertheless, for some reason, Our Lord has seen fit for her to share some measure of His suffering as The Scriptures cryptically and mystically mention.

I have a sense that somehow in some sort of dialogue at some point, her personality, her spirit chose this route to greater intimacy with our Lord Jesus. I don't pretend to understand this and am not at all prepared to build any theology on it. I just offer it as it came to me.

This does not necessarily mean that her humanness will totally avoid utter despair and other very reasonable kicking and screaming as she grows more intimately connected with even The Cross of our Lord. But I feel that this is partly where the rest of us come in--upholding her in prayer, Love, affection, servant-hearted intercession in her behalf.

I have a sense that Our Lord will be pouring Himself through her in very uncommon ways in months and years to come. I would very much like to keep posted on this young lady's life.

Guess that's all I have.

May God be richly with her and all close to her in every desirable way. As I type that, I have an impression of Father kind of laughing--a gentle chuckle sort--that I have no clue how thickly HE HAS BEEN AND WILL BE VERY CLOSE TO HER.

Is there anyone in her life--who has the closeness to her; the identification with her; the intercessory prayer life; the sacrificial-servant-heartedness . . . with her such that The Lord MIGHT allow that person or those persons to take at least portions of her pain on themselves in some vicarious yet literal way? I don't know how to explain that. I'm not interested in talking about the theology of it. I just know that in rare (in my experience and observations), in rare instances, it's possible.

And, I feel some fasting would be of great help--especially on the part of a home group or local congregation that knows her and loves her. I feel that the Scriptural faith-works-through-love aspect is more important than usual in her situation.

To whatever degree The Lord confirms any of the above, His Name be praised and may He be glorified in her life.

Evidently this is one of the reasons I've been praying since 04:00 when I normally would not have begun until 07:30 on Saturday.

Now, my well feels very dry and I'll shut-up.
