c'man man, NAMBLA has nothing to do with this situation and you know it.
i was pulling for Rush on espn but that comment was out of NOWHERE...isn't Rush's team the STEELERS!?!? maybe he's upset they're putting Cordell Stewart out there as QB these past few weeks, but the MEDIA wasn't in Cordell's corner...he's black...why wasn't the media pulling for Cordell!? if rush is a steelers fan he should realize the press does not automatically pull for black qb's. cordell has been destroyed by the press...and probably rightly so.
and not to mention Donovan McNabb is a nice as hell guy. i just think Rush should have chosen a better time to make a "media commentary". yeah McNabb sucked this year but c'mon!
sorry to see this all happen. but glad to see Rush take responsibility....i just hope some of you non-football fans can realize how wrong Rush was.

They pulled for him big time, but IMO, that was only because of his explosiveness when a play went bad, a trait that McNabb has shown as well. But defenses got wise to Kordell, as they have gotten wise to McNabb. Also, it doesnt help that McNabb has no supporting crew, and that the Philly brass wasnt smart enough to keep Hugh Douglas to keep their D at the top of its game. McNabb is overrated, but I dont really think that it is because of his race. With guys like Kordell, Moon, Culpepper, Blake, Cunningham, and even the less fortunate black QBs like Akili Smith and others, that 'new car smell' about black QBs in the NFL is long gone, making Rush's comment seem a bit out of whack...JFK

A white guy speculating about the racial reasons for a black player's treatment on a sports network smacks of a southern bigot, plain and simple. Southern bigots always look for the sinister racial undertone which "explains" everything. I personally don't want to hear about it. Talk about the sport not about race.
Rush was wrong and stupid. He handed all who hated him already, an issue to gore him with. Rush delivered his own head on the platter. DUH!!! How stupid can one get? Never thought he'd fall like this, but the tongue is so unruly and yes, impossible to tame.

FYI - I heard Rush say on his show yesterday that ESPN has a pre-production show to go over the topics and the comments that will be made so that the time allotted, etc can be planned. Apparently before the show his comments were
a) not considered to be over the top
or
b) a setup to get him off the show and slime him in the process.
It took 5 weeks to get Michael savage off the air, only 2 for Rush.
