Good post. He had to have been fired, but I wouldn't have thought him to go down without asking the question "how did I not live up to my part of the contract...doing exactly what you asked me to do...and doing it very well?"

As Rush explained on his show today, his role on the show was to be "The Fan". He represented the fans opinion and as seen on this thread, and any sports bar, there are thousands of them ranging from informed to idiotic. So he said something "outrageous"...what did ESPN expect....or, in fact, what were they hoping for???? Ratings??? Buzz?? They have it now AND when they hired him. They knew exactly what they were getting. If he was to represent the fan, then he had full reign to say what you hear the moron sitting behind you at the game saying.
