Think we have at least two groups maybe three that belong to the McC supporters. We have the people that truly believe in McC and what he stands for, the people that are here to cause trouble from the enemy, and some people here to cause trouble from within conservatave ranks. Guess that does make three groups. When I see conservatives posting about moving to a 3rd Party that speaks volumes about their agenda! How many groups do we have of Arnold supporters? Oh that's right - just one! And they're pure as snow! LOL

But political reality changes very swiftly in this country. That kind of flies in the face of your fellow TomBots who have argued that Mcclintock can win in California because Ronald Reagan did.
Thanks.

I've been saying from day one that Tom was in this for Tom. I've been saying that he had too much "professional politician" in him and it has corrupted him. Mr. Principle got caught with his pants down. I don't like liars... why do you?
To: Onelifetogive
We're expecting the dirt. We're also expecting it to be trumped up. And since I already voted via absentT, my vote is cast. But Arnold is my man this time, regardless.
To: DoughtyOne
Good point, D1. I would think that the reason for the infighting and non-focus on Davis and Bustamante is that it's a foregone conclusion that all California Freepers would vote FOR the recall, and certainly not for Bustamante. But that assumption is proving to be incorrect in the closing days of the recall race. I'm sure you've seen, as I have, comments from supposed-McClintock supporters to the effect that "Davis would be better than Arnold," and that "Bustamante would be better than Arnold." I've been saying that the "my-way-or-the-highway" attitude of a good number of people on FR toward this (and just about every other) election is infantile at best, suicidal at worst.

Again, I didn't know that reporting what I heard on the radio was to be considered "vanity." I'll be mindful next time.

I stand corrected and apologize for calling you a liar.No problem at all. I wouldn't believe it myself had I not read it. :-)

(How ironic is it that Arnold turned out to be the spoiler?)

You mean Tom's 15% would elect to stay home and pout? If so, then they're not Republicans in any sense of the word.
Who wants to be a Republican? I'm a CONSERVATIVE. I typically vote Republican because their candidates best match my political philosophies. If the Republicans FAIL to run a candidate that matches my political goals, I'll vote for whichever candidate DOES promote them. In this case, we have a choice between a pro-immigrant socialist (Bustamante), a pro-business leftist (Arnold), or a traditional conservative (Tom). My vote goes to Tom. If he drops out, I vote against the recall and/or cast a protest vote.
Based on my personal experience, there are two kinds of Republican voters: Those who see politics as a giant football game ("Rah Rah, Support the home team at all costs! Crush the enemy!"), and those who actually give a damn about the candidates and what they stand for. You obviously couldn't give a damn about the future of this state...you just want your "team" to win. I choose to fight for a more conservative candidate, damn the team.
I'm firmly convinced that if Hillary Clinton switched parties, half of this websites posters would vote for her just to keep a Republican in office.

I don't like liars... why do you? I guess I like liars for the same reasons that I like cheaters, swindlers, wife beaters, polluters, slumlords, and greedy developers -- I'm a conservative Republican.

He lied twice to Issa on major issue, to others and his very presence in this race at this late date speaks volumes.
For Tombots, ignorance is bliss I guess...SAD!

Only because so many Republicans have lost their fricken minds. Maybe we're just seeing the true hearts of some Republicans?
I'm a California native, born and raised in Santa Cruz, and I'm a true Conservative. Lately that means I vote Republican but that may change in future elections.

Again, I didn't know that reporting what I heard on the radio was to be considered "vanity." No quotes and a "report" so wildly inaccurate it gives as a source an unnamed person and a nonexistent organization name.

Bustamante is imploding as we speak. There is nothing to spoil. Schwarenegger and McClintock will finish 1st and 2nd.
To: My2Cents
He isn't a good fit for the office of Governor. He'll be lucky to get one-fourth the percentage he received in his Controller run. Tom's got more approval than you think, besides the 50% in 02 where Californian learned which horse could garner the votes.
On Freerepublic, I see the same posters, over and over, demonizing Tom. Then I see different posters (lurkers) questioning the stampede. The greasy wheel is not going to win this. Coming down the wire, I'd like the see a daily count or vote on FR like we had when this started.

Stop playing word games, Roscoe. You remind me of my 5 year old. The group is the Lincoln Club, not the Lincoln Republicans. The earlier post misidentified the group's name, but the group exists (the existence of which you denied).

Talking about third parties...
The last third was started by a bunch of losers who could not see through the lies also.
The last spoiler and liar, Perot, appeared on Larry King Live. Larry says "Hey, why don't you run?". Next day Perot says he's running because "the people" started calling and wanted him to run. PURE BS! He had his 800 number and campaign apparatus in the works for months. Liar. The whole campaign was hatched in deceit, on a big lie.
Perot said "the rich" should pay more taxes. Then one of the worlds richest people (Perot) gets exposed as a hypocrite when he has to file a campaign financial report. It shows most of his money was in tax-exempt muni bonds and treasuries.
When Bush I was behind, Perot drops out. When Bush I was moving up and about to tie Clinton, dufus decides to re-run. It is well known that Perot hated Bush I. He manipulated all of his well meaning but naive followers, and gave us 8 years of "The Scumbag", just for a petty, vindictive, personal grudge.
To: Sir Gawain
If Daschle says Bush is doing a "great job" as president, says Milton Friedman is a hero, is proud to have paid for a Ronald Reagan statue, donates money to Republican causes and candidates, say that people are taxed too much and that government spends too much, etc., I'd support Daschle.
To: EternalVigilance
All this time the AS supporters were claiming their atrocious attacks on Tom were because he was going to elect Bustamante. Up until the CNN poll this weekend, that was the likelihood. It's only been three days that Tom's candidacy has been looking rather irrelevant.

You can't have it both ways. Either Burton, Haynes, and Issa are lying, or Tom is lying.
State for the record who is without all the sqirming and wiggling.
