How about the rest of it though, do you understand where I am coming from?

I understand, but I don't agree. At this point you don't want to cause another shakeup because it could threaten the recall itself. I disagree with those that still want McClintock to drop out at this point, it's simply too close to the big day and would cause a severe shakeup. I don't think that there would be 'hell to pay', I think the general shift to GOP (either candidate) is terrific. McClintock will have momentum and a higher profile to be able to take on Boxer. His favorable ratings and Schwarzenegger's favorables are both very high. Momentum would be on the GOP's side if the governorship is captured and a now well-known candidate steps in to take on Boxer. Boxer being in peril would significantly effect the momentum of the 2004 presidential race. This could play out well.

nice theory, but the reality is that team Arnie will be
out to kill Tom off in '04 and will never think of backing
him for any office and won't let go a dime in his direction which is the same road they've rolled down for a
decade!

Look, you gotta differ to those on the ground, because otherwise you are going to say things like this.-- Close friend, fellow Thousand Oaker, understudy, and rock ribbed Conservative; Tony Strickland is running against Boxer in 04.

His favorable ratings and Schwarzenegger's favorables are both very high.

Well, at least the former is true, (R)nold unfavorables are at 43% in the last Field, and that is before he takes office, and the blame...

This could play out well.

Finally some optimism! Heck yeah, lets go win Conservatives! The irony is that for once I don't share it. History disagrees.

Check this out.
