Her "love thy enemy" is superficial. She's never had to put her "belief" where she thinks her heart really is. She's never met a real enemy, not someone like Sadaam. She's never had to fear for her life or those of her loved ones. Her Christianity has been in the church and her home. She's never really had to put her faith to the test. She does believe, that I'm sure of, but her belief has never really been tested. She is a liberal, that is for sure, she probabbly listens to the alphabet press, and listens to people of like minds. Until she's put to the real test, she will always believe someone like Saddam never existed. Dolly, I wouldn't send her anymore information, someday something may happen to allow her to see and believe the truth. Until that time, she will be a "forgive thy enemy, for they know not what they are doing".
I have known people like this and have moved beyond their areas, my time is too important to waste it.

You are right that she has never felt the OPPRESSORS of cruelty, although she has had her share of trials & pain.

She was married to a sweetheart - a very dear, compassionate & warm man .. But her cold manners & sharp tongue turned him away for good after 15 years of so ..she is bitter about that. She understands her marriage ended because of her choice of attitude & her personality. Guess she feels take me as is or not.

(And I feel the same way myself..we need to be authentic about who we are & accept the consequences if the way we are is somewhat antisocial)

As a young adult her dad was sent to prison. This man is/was a respected Bible scholar.. it involved a partnership he had & illegal investments. Her dad the PhD , "doc", ivy league tower mentality, put in his money with trust to the Investor partner.. they both went to prison. While there for about a year he wrote a series of letters to his daughter.. Lorna.. then published to book.. called Dear Lorna.. He also published much before, during, after... mostly Greek translations of books of bible. When I was in seminary we used his work in our Greek classes. “Dad in Jail” was a difficult time for her. She is much like her dad.. Super intelligent & isolated.

Also 2001 Christmas her only child/son was in severe auto accident during a snow storm... he was not expected to live.. he was in IC& & coma for months.. finally after about 8 months made an almost full recovery. She has a sharp tongue & makes enemies. There are ways to say things without being totally offensive & does not possess or use that type of tact..

More than you wanted to know.. But if the Libs would look at us also as humans & not just faceless entities spouting “hate” they would see we have a foundation under our belief system and are not just throwing out rhetoric.
