Novak was also the first to report that Al Gore's presumed first choice as his running mate was out of contention and that Joe Lieberman was the likely replacement. Novak certainly has some excellent sources in some interesting places, or some sources that are real good at wiretapping. Which could include some in the FBI, and others elsewhere.
