Bill Simon, whose political experience is limited to one losing election, looked at the polls, realized he hadn't held on to his voters from last fall, realized it was going to be a difficult to impossible job to get them back in six to eight weeks, even with his independent wealth, and pulled out of the race. Tom, a twenty to thirty year political veteran, looked at the same polls, showing that he didn't hold on to his voters from last fall, had an even more difficult (let's face it, impossible) job to get them all back due to his more limited finances...and chose to keep running until he hits bottom. Who looks more like the amateur?
