(CNSNews.com) - Despite surging ahead of other recall candidates in a Gallup poll released over the weekend, political analysts said Monday that Republican actor Arnold Schwarzenegger shouldn't get too excited as the campaign heads into its final week.
Absent other polls showing similar results, pundits said they would rather take a wait-and-see approach than jump to any firm conclusions based on the Gallup survey conducted last week after a debate among the top recall candidates....

If a majority of the votes in a recall proposal are 'Yes,' the officer sought to be recalled shall be removed from office upon qualification of his successor.

For all the buzz about the recall, very little has been written or said about what happens the day after the election.
For starters, nothing officially happens on Oct. 8.
It will take several days or even weeks for elections officials to tally all the late-arriving absentee ballots that arrive in the mail on election day or are dropped off by voters at polling places. Also to be reviewed and possibly counted well after Election Day will be provisional ballots -- those cast by voters who arrive at a polling place but whose names are not on the official list of qualified voters. They are allowed to vote provisionally, but their ballots are set aside for later review....

There is new controversy surrounding recall candidate Cruz Bustamante and Indian gaming money.
A federal judge last week ordered the lieutenant governor to return the money he raised from tribes around the state, because they surpassed campaign contribution limits.
Now, comes word that the general manager of the Big Sandy Rancheria Casino is Andrew Bustamante, his younger brother....
