What conscience would McClintock or his followers have in this election?
McClintock told Issa if this situation arose he would drop out and did not do it.

McClintock lacks class, ethics, loyalty and is now a proved spoiler while receiving big tribe money.

McClintock is history.

There are those like me who cannot in good conscience support or vote for a pro-abortion candidate under any circumstance.

Very sad, man.

No what is sad is that California conservatives still in the McClintock camp come hell or high water are going to be completely shut out of the party if they succeed in losing two gubernatorial elections in two years to the same incumbent with a 30% approval rating. THAT is why so many California conservatives are backing AS. They are smart enough to know that they got their way with Simon and they will not get away with it again. Arnold aside, I would think that in the largest state in the country, conservatives would have been grooming someone other than a 20 year political hack. Is McClintock and Simon the best conservatives can come up with?

UHH...

Very interesting post. but the quoted post is in response to another post which was removed by the moderator.
It is unclear to whom the quote is referring.
If, indeed, Broken Glass Republican is saying that he/she would vote for Waters over McClintock, that is pretty aweful, but you have to a bit better job of evidence.

After all, Tom Aborted his word, ethics and reasoning skills. Has aborted the future of California and the Republican party.

In addition, the governor has nothing to do with the baby Abortion issue.

Oh come on, Tex. Tom is one hell of a fine man and a great candidate. Don't let all of this savaging of him here cloud your judgement about the man.

What if it were, say Rudy Giuliani against Hitlery! ?

Are you THAT rigid and cut off your nose to spite your face, that you consider getting THE worst case scenario, better than voting for someone who isn't completely anti-abortion ? BTW, Arnold IS against paratial birth abortion and IS for parent notification.

So you too would ask a man to violate his conscience to vote for a political candidate?

You seem too sane for that.

Thank you for the insight into this particular poll. I find it interesting that Schwarzenegger is taking the "Republican" vote by 60% to 27% for McClintock. This is slightly higher than the 5:3 ratio that was reported in another dataset before the debates (for "conservatives" rather than "Republicans"). I am guessing this reflects that the Schwarzenegger soft conservative support is firming slightly.

Winning back the Republicans and other conservatives is the key to the McClintock election strategy. although he has traction, I doubt there is enough time. As long as Schwarzenegger can avoid stating the depth of his convictions, the better he will do.
