We do not need skilled people. We are going to be a service based economy, don't you remember? Kind of shoots in the ass the ill-conceived "Leave No Child Behind"'s reason for being. For if eleven million plus socially stunted, illiterate, illegal aliens from Mexico, many of whom can't speak the king's English, are finding good paying gigs in the US, certainly Drop-Out David can get a job laying roofing tiles too.
I wonder how many illegals would stay employed if they had to play by the same rules as US workers? Do you think an illegal would sue over an OSHA violation, or declare "sexual harrasment", or deliberately stuff their hand in a deep fryer to get a worker's compensation check?

The only thing keeping illegals' labor costs low is the fear of deportation. If they are given the slightest cover of legality, their wages will go up to the norm. Then there will be no advantage to having them here AT ALL... but it will be too late -- they will be here taking jobs from US citizens at HIGH rates instead of low ones (there goes that excuse) and getting welfare for their families.
In fact, it probably already is too late.
The fawning press coverage of this disgusting event is just too depressing.
We are STILL silenced! :-(

I wonder how many jobs there would be if the employers got mandatory jailtime if caught? It's extortion...we have to pay to subsidize their cheap labor!
