I too believe this guy's story. We shouldn't discount his story just because he's a goofy, leftist, new age type nut. I can easily imagine the pain and humiliation of being mistakenly arrested and then treated like trash by bureaucrats making all kinds of assumptions...

I too believe him. I've had the same happen to me and to friends. The reason(s) why they occur are not as clear as the facts that they do occur. My experience with bad policing, and my experience in the US Army, prove to me that the government does not do anything well. And the more you give it to do, the less well it does it.

I rolled thru right turn on red and sat in Cook County jail Thurs-Tues with no explanation, no phone call. (Oh, you'll get that later. Oh, you should have done that earlier.) Race was not an issue. In traffic court, the judge dismissed for time served and it never went on my record.

I've seen the same happen to Black and Hispanic individuals. A Black computer programmer co-worker of mine was stopped at 6 AM for the crime of "Being in the Northern Suburbs". Rather than get off the expressway and go directly to Allstate, he got off an exit early to stop for donuts. He lost 2 days of work, ran behind on the programs he was coding and his contract was not renewed. (He was not protected by the affirmative action police because he was hired on merit outside the diversity program and the HR people were bent out of shape about it.)
