" From that point on to your phone appartus, the line is private property
That I should have no say as to what travels through my phone line is ridiculous." You have the same right as you have regarding what speech travels through your private television from the public airwaves. Dont turn either on if you dont want to be annoyed by public communication.

I tune in my television because I want to; I do not recieve telemarketing calls because I want to.
I can disconnect my television without undue loss; I cannot disconnect my phone without disrupting my private or professional life.
For the telemarketers to not call me causes no loss to them, however; for I would never purchase anything from a telemarketer anyway.

We do have the option of limiting what we want seen on our televisions....ever hear of 'parental control'? If we can set limits there and on our computers, why not on a telephone that is used by the entire family?
