On the J map (just given) go to the northern island of Hokkaido. see the orange line (highway) running through the second "K" in Hokkaido. Trace that down to the end of the peninsula due south. Then, go offshore a couple of 50 to 100 miles. That is the epicenter.

Well, the USAF station on Shemya will be the first hit. It's way the heck and gone out in the Aleutians, and has _excellent_ communications.
If there's no tsunami there, there's not going to be one. If there is, we'll know about it in plenty of time to deal with evacuations in AK, if necessary.
