Right. Those numbers are from the simplest view. There are complications. The Feds have reserved easements--on land they have transferred to the State and to private, patented land--for various purposes such as ditches and canals still not known or planned. In addition there is the question of subsurface rights, for mining, and of navigable streams and rivers and drainages leading into those waters. Land ownership is very complicated in Alaska, but the fact that most of Alaska is off limits to entry simplifies the concept considerably. Alaska's land is frozen, not only in nature, but in law. No development without permit: no mineral development, no road development, no economic development. What significant development that has been allowed is in the relatively small southeast corner between Fairbanks and Anchorage.

The question becomes, "When will thinking, reasoning people learn that bit of "How to...", also?

Simple solution...make old Mr. Wizard shows required viewing in public schools! :-)

When I was in the 2nd and 3rd grades they would take us on field trips to a large bakery or a dairy to learn how they did things. This concept still works today in that many tourists will stop and visit breweries, dairies, etc. for fun.

I've been to the Tillimook, OR cheese factory and a Bud brewery with Clydsdales in Manchester, NH. Fun stuff.

Well, I'm convinced. The continuous pumping of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere by thousands of power generating facilities doesn't mean a thing.

Not when it's such a small percentage of the total that comes from the oceans. And just have one good volcano eruption and boy, you talk about a surge.
