I reckon you're using NT or 2K or XP Pro, those systems all give a detailed report of running processes. I checked mine (XP Pro) and it's currently at 26 running processes, though a slightly different set than yours - for instance, I canned MSN Messenger and Windows Message Service - they are annoyances for which I have no use, and I'm currently letting the XP built in firewall have a tryout instead of ZoneAlarm, and I use NAV instead of Mcafee.
You can look for the files on your drive and right click and select properties to see who published them. You might want to research any that are unsigned.
