What is interesting about this thing...Capt Yee was highly reguarded by the Army because he helped to funnel US Army Muslims into the right direction and stay conviced of their mission. He kept finding ways to keep this population (and it grows each month) motivated and in line with their military training. He was basicaly a good guy...they put him in front of the cameras...he talked pro-US, pro-Army. When they sent him down to Gitmo, he was in the limelight with the press. He helped to adjust the attitude of the prisoners and seen as a positive influence.

I don't think he went bad...rather...he probably made a lot of notes, and when he left...he took them with him. The Army probably reguards these notes as classified information. They may have a point, but I doubt that they ever brought this guy in and said everything you write while here...is classified. They probably kept thinking...this guy is a chaplin, thus we aren't worried about what he thinks. And as he gets on the plane...some nimwit commander probably wakes up and thinks...this guy has all of those personal notes which might be classified.

The outcome of this...they will certainly take this guy through the cleaners and dump him out of the Army. The negative though...is that a lot of Muslims in the Army will see this as a vendata against them...having trusted the chaplin. This will echo across the US and into public communities. This is not a case the Army will come out looking good on.

I believe you are wrong on all counts except the last one. The army will absolutely not come out looking good.

But that will probably be because they allowed a traitor to infiltrate back into their ranks.

One of today's news reports indicated that..."Yee carried detailed maps of the prison camp in Guantanamo, showing where detainees were held." when he was captured.

Clearly, those are not the kind of notes he would need top help them spiritually.

As to his playing the game good...meaning all the right comments, etc. Well of course he would. If he was a good operator/player, then this would be exactly what he would do to keep scrutiny and suspicion away from himself while he went about his work.

Time will tell and we shall see.

If he is guilty of espionage and treason...I hope thye hang him.

From what I've heard on news reports tonight, the military were not the ones to figure this out. It was Customs who confiscated whatever he had, and then held him, when he got back to Miami.

If it's true that he's a traitor, then unfortunately it sounds as if he could have done a lot of damage without anyone catching on in time.

And purple monkies might fly out of my butt.

That would be more likely than the scenerio you describe. If the Army is willing to place this guy under arrest and toss him in the brig, they have a lot more to go on than the paranoia of some pudding-brained commander (of which, I grant, the Army has thousands.)

Considering how radioactive the accusation of being "anti-Muslim" is in our PC government these days I am more inclined to believe that they gave him every benefit of the doubt and then some before taking action.

Too little... too late...
