You advocate "shut up and take it" for Californians, which of course, is easy for you, since you won't do one, and don't have to do the other.

Thats right. The people that allowed that stuff to happen should get the blame. Since McClinton headed the Republicans in the state senate and allowed the state to go to hell on his watch, then he shares the responsibility. And you want to put this ineffectual lover buy of Bustamante in an executive position when he cant even run the minority in the Senate?
