It would be awesome if Herman Cain wins the Senate seat. I would love to see the faces of Al Sharpton and Je$$e Jackson when they refer to Herman Cain as Senator!

I like Cain too. I hope enough blacks cross-over and vote for him in the open primary.
Heck, for that matter, I hope it's not too close a primary battle 'cause I want to vote a democrat ticket for Dean.

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

GA primaries have a run-off system if no candidate wins 50% of the vote. Cain can win the GOP primary if he manages to make it into the run-off. I have a feeling the "moderate" Johnny Iskason is going to make it into the run-off. However, I don't think he'll win the nomination. Iskason ran for the Senate in 1992 and 1996. Each time, he failed to win the primary. So, the likely winner of the GOP primary shall be whoever faces Iskason in the run-off. Let's hope it will be Herman Cain.

What a headline. Is it just so unthinkable that a black person could be a conservative republican?
To: bedolido
As I've said several times, the first black vice president and the first black president will be Republican.

"This is the first U.S. Senate race in modern times that Georgians will have the opportunity to elect a fiscally and socially conservative black Republican to the U.S. Senate," Cain adds in the e-mail, urging support for his one-of-a-kind candidacy. I wish I had an opportunity like that in California. :(

A few Cain pings. Does anyone have a definitive list of who all is running for the R nomination to replace Zell? Collins? Isaakson?
