Checking in. Kent Narrows (MD Eastern Shore) was hit hard with the surge. It had to be between 6-8 feet. Many boats that were hauled out and on land floated and crashed in to each other and the surrounding buildings.

We had power until a sailboat (at the Narrows) drifted in to a power line and the electricity arced and caught the boat on fire (no injuries). The power just came back on.

Overall, from what I've gathered from the news and radio, the Chesapeake Bay got the brunt of the surge in excess of predictions, and most of the damage was on the Western Shore.

This storm made history for the bay.

Not the kind of history anyone wants to see made about anywhere.

Glad to hear you're safe and sound.
