Good news for RTP--sort of...

Because Isabel is expected to continue moving through the state at nearly 20 mph... rainfall amounts... though heavy... should be somewhat limited by the duration of the storm. Rainfall of four to six inches is possible in the northern coastal plain. Lesser amounts are expected southwest... and storm total rainfall amounts should taper off quickly quickly to the southwest of Interstate 40. If Isabel should slow down or deviate slightly west... rainfall amounts could be heavier and heavy rain could spread further west.

People should be prepared for power outages. If high winds are forecast for your location... remove items from the yard that could be sent air borne by the winds. Residents living in manufactured housing should inspect and secure tie-Downs.
