She's attending the Washington Architectural Arts Center in Alexandria. We visited the campus there last summer. It's real and it's there.

I'm in Alexandria and I've been really surprised at how blasé people have been. 3” of snow (that melts 12 hours later) will bring this city to a halt. Yet many people here seem to think it’s just going to be a thunderstorm. Went to the hardware store last night for some plywood (we have a big tree in the back yard that is too close for comfort!) and there was no one there. Old Town Alexandria tends to flood easily. Extensive flooding will bring metro rail (subway) to a halt in some areas near the Potomac. Suggest she get some water and snacks and a radio and hunker down. This is a densely populated area with a lot of trees. There’s going to be a mess.

My apologies. I am familiar with Alexandria and I had no idea it's there. I hope your daughter will be safe. I know they are preparing sandbags for Old Town.
