Yea, I want to see the re-make of the Alamo, especially since I am a decendent of Jim Bowie.

Somehow I just can't envision Swingblade Carl as Davy Crockett. Two movies of the Alamo have already been made. I'd rather see a full length motion picture of the Battle of San Jacinto with Toby Keith as Sam Houston routing Santa Anna's Army out of Texas.

The violent, passionate James Bowie is being played by...JASON PATRIC!!! Give me a break! He has one expression: sullenly bored. Billy Bob Thornton as David Crockett! This version of 'The Alamo' ought to be a real doozy!!

One problem...The Alamo doesn't have a basement.

For that matter, you could probably do a complete rundown on the entire fight for independence--a really stirring part of American history, in my opinion.

Anachronistically speaking, the guy on the horse looks more like Revolutionary War than Texas Independence -- at least to me.

Looks interesting, but I think I'll wait for it to hit HBO. Is the real version (with the Duke) available on DVD? This thread makes me wanna buy it and watch it. :O)

Hmm, mostly white Texans versus latin Mexicans - you know the lefties will be screaming racism. Plus, since Santa Anna was a dictator, the lefties will be pulling for him to begin with...
As a minor historical note - Santa Anna, after being removed from power in Mexico came to the US - and introduced chewing gum to America.

From Freeper, carlo3b website:"Look for Carlo as Col. Travis in the trailer for the Christmas release of Alamo, the most expensive film to be shot in Texas. He's yelling "Charge . . ."

Interesting that you are a descendent of James Bowie.
Bowie's wife, Ursula, and his child died on Sept 10, 1833 of cholera. James in 1836, at you know where, he never remarried.
Through a brother maybe?
