BREAKING NEWS: UF Foundation Exec Arrested 9/16/2003
The Chief Financial Officer of the University of Florida Foundation is charged with four counts of theft. University Police say Kenneth Hillier, 56, of Jacksonville, wrote four checks from the Foundation to himself totaling $700,000.
Hillier was arrested by University Police Tuesday morning and booked into the Alachua County Jail.
According to an arrest report obtained by WCJB TV-20 News, Hillier, whose official title is Assistant Vice President for Administration-Finance, wrote at least four checks to himself from foundation funds.
The checks were written in October, 2002, and July, August and September, 2003, endorsed by Hillier, and deposited into his personal bank account.
The four checks total $700,000. The most recent was written on September 12 for $228,631.

Now I'm really glad I haven't made any donations to my alma mater recently. They have really gotten on my nerves lately calling me to hit me up for donations.

We are the boys from old Florida,
F-L-O-R-I-D-A,
Where the girls are the fairest,
The boys are the squarest of any old state down our way.
We are all strong for old Florida,
Down where the old Gators play,
In all kinds of weather
We'll all stick together for
F-L-O-R-I-D-A.
