Well, the rain has started and wind is starting to kick up a bit. I'm at the office for awhile this morning then I'm outta here. I hope there's a few trees left standing around my house after it's all over.

I'm not sure about my office though. City Hall is right across the street and the building is covered with scaffolding all on the exterior. It doesn't appear that the idiots running City Hall have done anything to secure any of that stuff. My house might come through ok but I don't know about my office.

I can't believe my cable-signal is still up. I was in Clearwater, Fla in 1985 when Elena hovered off the coast but this weather today is the worst I've ever been in.
The stately pines that tower over in front of my house are so far holding up very well.

How is everyone? We came through just fine as far as damage to the house goes. Not a single tree came down. A total miracle. The water came back on Saturday. But still no power. We aren't even on the list yet with Va Power. It's really going to be a long time before we have power. It's frustrating because subdivisions all around us have power but we don't.

It could've been a lot worse so I guess I shouldn't complain too much.

My back is doing better. Raking and cleaning up the yard was painful but I'm ok today.

We're okay. No damage at our house. Just lots of debris.

Major damage in our neighborhood tho. We think a twister came thru. We're always the last on the list to get our power back, so I'm guessing another couple of days.

Parents in Wmsburg got slammed hard though, roof damage, busted waterline and smashed shed with equipment inside at business,and more. Power, who knows?

I heard Williamsburg was really hard hit. I'm sorry your folks were in the line of fire. This storm was not nice that's for sure.

Our power just came back so I'm totally shocked. I really didn't think we'd get it back until the end of the week. Miracles can happen!

I'm in full agreement that America must "Stay the Course" vis a vis the War on Terrorism; however, Dubyuh needs to chart a new course than the one he's been on with regards to domestic policy. As much as I respect Dubyuh as a person, he's far too willing to yield to the DemonRATS' and RINOs' lust fer wasteful federal spending largesse, and it's sapping the motivation of those RightWingers who fought so hard to gain control of the White House and Congress. There's still time to right the course of Dubyuh's domestic policy ship before November 2004, but we need to get crackin' on it soon!!

Power's still out at the MudCave, but we had time to clean up all the debris over the weekend, and no significant damage to the house. One tree's leaning precariously against another, but we were planning on taking a few trees out this fall anyway, so as soon as we get the electricity back, all will be good.

I stopped in Kinko's up on Midlothian Turnpike while out paying bills.
Dubya just 5 min's away at State Police Training Cntr.
He & I could go out & have a steak & talk politics, but I have to get back home & finish cleaning yd.
Just got pwr back last night, cable still not back up so no Net access from home.

What's ironic is we never lost pwr at work, (we have our own independent lines w/VA Pwr). And our arc furnace uses more elec. in one minute than a house does in one month.
