Is a symbol representing the different religions of all those killed, planned to be erected also? If not, why?

That's like saying "If we have the American flag, we must also have all the flags".

The cross was not erected. It was just there during the cleanup of ground zero.

Because this was and is a CHRISTIAN nation. Deal with it or get out.

The obvious solution to this is to give the atheists their own symbol to display.
A hole encircled by sphincter muscle comes to mind...

Id imagine if theres going to be one theres going to be a bunch.
If not, why?
If any are excluded, I would guess its because the religious group chose not to participate.
I dont think the atheists have a symbol. Besides, memorials to the dead are kind of incongruous to the atheist ethos.

"Is a symbol representing the different religions of all those killed, planned to be erected also? If not, why?"No, because no legitimate symbol exists.

Because the Muslim idol wasn't found standing upright at the bottom of the rubble of the World Trade Center? The firefighters who wept for 15 minutes after finding it knew it was a message

Maybe, maybe not. If not maybe it's because none of them were found created out of the rubble.

Is a symbol representing the different religions of all those killed, planned to be erected also? If not, why? Because they'd rather fight this one that put up their own.

Why should there be? There is only one true God and it would be a good idea for America to recognize Him only. Why must we pander to those other bogus religions? If "they" are insulted, so be it. Let them go reside in a nation that is based on their god.

Is a symbol representing the different religions of all those killed, planned to be erected also? If not, why? This is just a part of the WTC that happens to resemble a cross. Is that so offensive? Had other parts of the WTC been found that looked like the Star of David or other religious symbols, I would have no problem with them being displayed either.
People see what they want to see. This piece was not fashioned to resemble a cross. Yet not only Christians see this wreckage as a cross, but so do atheists. I think their protests are not so much against a religious symbol, but a denial that they see the same thing in this cross as do Christians. And it scares them. Why else protest just another piece of wreckage being used in part of a memorial?

We demean the incredible emotions those rescue workers endured in that horrific task of combing through the rubble looking for the dead by arguing over the semantics of the symbolism of a cross. Let's keep it simple OK? The fireman found this 'cross' standing straight up among the other pieces of steel. It was HIS response in his heart (because he lives and understands the Power of HIS religion) and it gave him great comfort and hope. Why would you want to deprive those people of finding comfort and hope? Just because you or any non-Christian or atheist do not participate nor understand this spiritual connection, must you deny the millions who do?
Let's just take this issue to the courts OK? Let the athiests file charges on the separation of church and state issue. It will be thrown out. This no where resembles Congress making a law defining a religion for the country. Are you offended to visit the Arlington cemetary?

Is a symbol representing the different religions of all those killed, planned to be erected also? If not, why?Perhaps, perhaps not. And if not, it is because people associated with those faiths have chosen not to place one there.
However, for those who are not Christians to impose their will on those who choose to commemorate that ground with a cross, is simply wrong.
They insist that their sensibilities are affected by a cross. There is more ground to be had there; they can choose to stand and contemplate or meditate or pray (can they do that?) in an empty space. Christians are gratified that a symbol of their Faith is there, where they can feel comfortable in communion with the Spirit of God and in the shadow of where their loved ones died.
What the atheists want (in other words) is immaterial.

Because a cross was found, not a star, or Cresent Moon, or Budda, or goat's head, o whatever. A cross was found, and most of the people where Christian.
