McClintock said in Wednesday's debate that he'd be sponsoring a referendumagainst Illegal Alien driver's licenses for the March Primary.

That will make Illegals an issue which all Presidential candidates will have to address in California. That's on top of Arizona, where the #187-like "Protect Arizona Now" initiative will be on the ballot next year.

Illegals won't be swept under the rug in 2004. The trick will be to prevent President Bush from dealing with the problem by giving Amnesty to Illegals. It might require a primary challenge from someone like Tancredo.
