[history]
Five weeks before a special election that could remove him from office, Gov. Gray Davis on Wednesday will launch his first set of television ads designed to sway voters against the Oct. 7 recall.
The one-week, $1 million buy includes two 30-second ads that begin airing Wednesday in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Monterey -- coastal television markets dominated by Democratic voters.

The governor deserves the chance to keep working on issues we care about, like education, health care and important new privacy legislation.
Yeah Right, DiFi! He isn't done screwing this state over completely yet... Damn, NYer!!

On the recall - just say no. Nancy Reagan promoted the "just say no" to drugs and the red ribbon campaigns. Feinstein is trying to usurp the meaning of that phrase from a good cause (to keep children away from drugs) to something meaningless (a choice on the recall).

"She argues that the recall is being driven by Republicans"
I'd like to see that stats on that Feinswine.... I know several people in my own little circle who are not registered Reps who signed the recall (mostly Independents).

DiFi may get socialists to agree with her but on election day many of these voters won't really interrupt their busy day just to save the job of someone they don't personally like. It takes a lot of work to drive to the polls, stand in line, and follow all the directions, all just to vote a single negative. Only the angriest socialists will get off their lazy butts and do this. However the voters that want to vote positive FOR someone are much more motivated.

When the recall succeeds, it will be all the more clear that Dianne -- already 70 -- isn't going to run for another Senate term.
