Thanks for the kind words, D. Brian. I really am doing this for the troops. Sticking it to the press is simply a fringe benefit. (^;

The more of this that happens, the faster our problems there will fade.
People are people, and when they work togethor the barriers drop, on both sides. Onece the regular Iraqi sees that Americans are not very different than themselves, with families, dreams and fears, they will be far less likely to harass and attack us.

Thanks for the ping and your good work.
A technical heads-up: CENTCOM is using quite large graphics, along with HTML code to display them at a smaller size. (Tricky, huh?) The one above, for example, is 332K and 1312*2000 pixels. If some people find this thread loading slowly, that is why.

blackie, our troops and the Iraqi people have an abusive press in common. After decades of Iraqi Info Ministry lies, the Iraqi people may be more trusting of our troops because of BBC and CBS behaving badly. Perhaps we should tell the press to keep up the bad work. (^:

When will the libs start screaming that this is dehumanizing the poor Iraqis? That we are humiliating them and treating them like our servants?

re: "making lighter work with many hands."
Gee, reminds me of long ago days doing farm work with my grandfather, of German heritage. There used to be an old German saying, which he used to quote rather often when we were working together.
Like, every few minutes.
My brother hated it, because Grandad used to forget he had just said it five minutes before (Alzheimer's). So again, and again, and again,
"Many hands makes the work light."
I would sure like to hear him say that again, just one more time!

Yesterday, I found out I had eaten some goat lung. Every so often we get in a conversation about Saddam. They are so happy that guy is gone. They were laughing so hard when we showed them the South Park episode with him in it."
That must be the secret receipe to international peace - goat lung and South Park.
Who'd have guessed?

Thanks for the info, dighton.
Sounds like someone else could use some tips re. the efficient use of bandwidth (heh).

Good post. Putting those spare tires together is a pain in the butt. It's good that the locals want to help out and earn a few bucks at the same time (although if the liberals hear how much they get paid they'll surely howl about 'sweat shop wages')
