Well, if he is the false prophet, we can hurry the Armageddon thing up and rid ourselves of socialism once and for all.

A few years ago some crazy woman decided SHE was Jesus, and started heading with a following of some few thousand strong to Moscow to be crucified. As a typical American mostly ignorant about foreign affairs, I missed that ;-)
I would love to learn more about it. By any chance, do you happen to recall the name of that woman or the movement she started?

I wouldn't consider myself to be brilliant by any means but if this were proposed in my church, I would have to object (or at least say "You Go Fisrt" to the one raising the idea). You're not a good sheep then if you don't trust your shepherd ;-)

AMEN. Bears repeating:
Matthew 24
4Jesus answered: "Watch out that no one deceives you. 5For many will come in my name, claiming, 'I am the Christ,[1] ' and will deceive many. 6You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.
23At that time if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or, 'There he is!' do not believe it. 24For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect--if that were possible. 25See, I have told you ahead of time. 26"So if anyone tells you, 'There he is, out in the desert,' do not go out; or, 'Here he is, in the inner rooms,' do not believe it. 27For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
Praise Him, for He alone is worthy.

"If we did know what he looked like there would be more Jesus impersonators than there are Elvis wannabees!"
We have some clues, but there weren't any Polaroids taken of Him. :)

Well, there's trusting the Good Shepherd, then there's testing the spirit of the shepherd of your local church. :)

"And Jesus answered them, "Take heed that no one leads you astray. For many will come in My Name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and they will lead many astray."
Even more to the point of this verse is to be aware of the various sects of false religions that will arise claiming to be the one and only true annointed church of Jesus Christ.
Christ=Annointed One.
How do we differentiate a cult from the truth? Any group or religious organization claiming the way to eternal life is through a membership with THEM.

Our faith reads the same Bible you do, and so we too know not to follow false Christs. I wish people like you would think before they spoke, it would save alot of hurt feelings. ~Anikka

The only thing about Jesus and his appearance we get from the Bible is that he was recognizably Jewish to the Samaritan woman at the well because she could tell he was someone who went to Jerusalem to worship and was surprised when he conversed with her since Samaritans and Jews did not socially mix.
