I don't know. Sorry, I was being whack.

What a freak show. No wonder I haven't listened to Top 40 radio in 20 years. Whatever happened to REO Speedwagon, Journey, Foreigner, Van Halen and Dire Straits? You know, real music.

Okay. I have shoes that look like that. I admit it. I want you.
To: Ganymede
I found "Cash's video, nominated for video of the year, best male video and best direction" but I can't find the other three. Best male video is coming up, according to the voice before the commercials.

This is positively the worst award presentation that I've ever seen (Kelly Osbourne to Duran Duran). Well, maybe Michael Jackson's birthday was worse; I'd have to roll the tape.
psst.. Kelly, when you have to ASK the audience for the standing-O, it kind of loses its meaning.

About 15 years ago on the MTV awards I saw Madonna do a dance routine that was so sleazy I felt like I needed a shower. I have never watched the award show or MTV since, and I'm in the music business!
I can see I haven't missed a thing.

That's a better word for it.
Who are you, my English teacher? It was a typo. I posted a corrected version for your tender eyes (see post 166).

This is why music sales are in a slump. Years of phoney product. Genuine rock and roll has been cast aside.
Even now, they are laying claim to words like "garage" and "punk". Both movements came from the same roots decades ago and have continued on without much radio support.
Very few of the "garage" acts that have been given the industry push are noteworthy. Rather than pay for the back catalog of established acts, they want to reinvent the wheel.
Rock of all stripes continues on. Modern music isn't about the sound, it's about the image.
Video didn't kill the radio star, but MTV killed the music industry. It replaced the musician with the celebrity. What does so and so think about this summer movie? What's his house look like? Who's she dating now? < /rant off >

Maybe. I'm not sure. Oh, Missy Elliott won one.
