It's always been a mystery to me how so many obediently followed the orders of the Nazis and how so many just stood by.

It was to me too, until I did some rather heavy reading. There had been years of planned propoganda against the very humanity of the Jews beginning with the children. When those children matured, they kept their loathing of the Jews. They facilitated the holocaust.

By the way, one of my heros is Corrie ten Boom -- she and her family were a part of the Dutch underground. They hid jews in their home. Corrie's fathe and sister died in concentration camps. Corrie herself was released on a technicality.

Now, my opinion is that was an awesome feat of civil disobedience. It was against the law to do what they did, but it was a matter of life and death. Just like abortion, just like euthanasia. I certainly don't advocate violence...don't get me wrong. But a lot of good can come of making known Terri and others' situations and protesting them as well.

I agree!

The possessions of the Jews, their residences, their freedom and finally their lives were collected incrementally.

Terri Schindler-Schiavo's fight for life belongs to all of us and parallels what happened in the Holocaust in that she is among the first and others will follow. Protest while we still can.
