I am the proud owner of my mawmaw's hoosier that I watched her make biscuits on. She always made tomato gravy with her biscuits. Might be an eastern Kentucky thang.

Tomato gravy and bisquits may be an E. Kentucky thing but they were also a Florida panhandle thing when I was growing up. Really a pretty good combination.

I don't think my Mother even knew how to make any other kind of bread than bisquits and corn bread. I just remembered She also made a fried corn bread that was not really a hush puppy and not quite corn bread either. Oh yes one more thing, she also made a hoe cake which was also good with gravy of all kinds.
