I think electing Arnold is a minefield for the GOP and worse yet conservatism. If he has any successes the local democrats will attribute it to his liberalisma while every failure will be pinned on conservatism and his GOP affiliation.

For the most part there is no substantive difference between Davis and Schwarzenegger. Schwarzenpubbies would settle for Davis if only he had some charisma and an "R" next to his name.

Schwarzendoofus satisfies this need. When they look at Arnold they see Gay Davis on charisma steroids, with an "R" next to his name.
