If you were genuine, you'd want McClintock to give it his best shot, articulating his positions and gathering as much support as possible, and only THEN, as the election looms much closer, determine whether or not his candidacy has a solid chance of winning, and if not, withdrawing and throwing his support to Arnold (as at least some improvement over the Democrat fascists currently running things).

Some of us see from the outset that we don't have time for that. Some of us know McClintock as an excellent speaker and portrayer of conservatism but not known for getting things done. Let's go with a winner. Arnold doesn't need the fame, isn't using the governorship as a stepping stone, and has done every little thing he has set out to do, with excellence. I don't die on every hill, and I am wise enough to avoid utopian thinking.

But instead of encouraging someone who you CLAIM better represents your positions, you immediately badmouth him, call him names, and harass his supporters.

I would never namecall or badmouth; that is just wrong. His supporters, however, will indeed elect Bustamente if they don't compromise, which is their choice.

This makes you frauds where conservatism is concerned. You are fools, cowards, and worthy of no respect.

As previously stated, I believe namecalling or insulting is wrong.

In fact, it's because of your ilk's self-fulfilling prophecies of doom as you've pushed previous RINO candidates that the presumption exists that a conservative can't win.

When you decide to go for a swim, it's best to make sure whether you will be diving into water or mayonnaise. CA is mayonnaise right now for a "true blue conservative." The liberal media have frightened all the silly liberals into thinking we have blood dripping from our fangs.

Heard the one about the frog who goes happier to the boil when the temperature goes up slowly? Think of CA libs as frogs. It's not hard to do.

Of course I have. Ever hear the one about the tortoise and the hare? Check out the latest poll numbers for McClintock and add those for Simon, who just dropped out. This represents a change of about 14% in a matter of days. Momentum is actually a factor in elections. Arnold may be losing his just as McClintock is rising. There's still plenty of time for Arnold to shoot himself in the foot somehow, or for the Democrat slime machine to manage some effective smear. That's far more likely to elect Bustamante than conservatives backing McClintock until such time as it MAY be necessary to switch allegiances. If McClintock eventually outpolls Arnold, what will you do? Continue to pound on the "Arnold is electable, McClintock isn't" drum?
