What needs to happen is that the gun owner vote needs to be mobilized. That's very tough to do, since they just don't vote.

Some of us do, but apparently not in large numbers. Also, even the gun owners I do know who vote can't be roused to write their elected "representatives" when another ugly onerous anti-gun bill is coming up for a vote. I'm always sending alerts about upcoming legislation to gun owners I know - most of them don't bother to contact them. Some of them I know just shrug and say that it isn't going to affect them.
