This is posted on the acluutah.org home page... Eagles and the ten commandments under attack...
Action Alert: Help the ACLU of Utah find the last Ten Commandments monument on government property in Utah. During the 1950s and 1960s the Fraternal Order of Eagles donated 9 Ten Commandments monuments to cities and towns in Utah. As of today, all but one of the monuments has been located.
In recent months local civil rights attorney Brian Barnard and the ACLU of Utah have negotiated with the cities of Roy, Tooele and Ogden to get these monuments moved from government to private property in Utah. Mr. Barnard is currently working on getting the recently discovered monument in Pleasant Grove removed from public property. Other cities including Provo decided to move their monuments to private property before we got involved. Monuments have also been located and removed from public property in Salt Lake City and Murray. West Valley also has a monument located on private property in front of their Aerie Lodge. Every city where a monument has been found also has an Eagles Aeries Lodge within the city.
Recently a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles stated that there is one monument left in Utah on government property. We need your help to find the last monument.
Please go visit your local public parks and city buildings to see if the monument is there. We are particularly interested in looking for the monument in Logan, Brigham City, Hurricane, Midvale, Midway and Tremonton.
The monuments are made of a reddish gray marble, are rounded on the top and are in the form of two tablets side by side.
If you find it, contact our office at 521-9862 x 103 or Brian Barnard at 328-9531.
Another Christian no doubt.
How can they be "offended" if they don't even know where the darn thing is?
How very Christian of you to call another FReeper a fag. The post number of your comments has not gone unnoticed by me.
Beware of false teachers who come disguised as harmless sheep, but are wolves and will tear you apart. You can detect them by the way they act, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit. You need never confuse grapevines with thorn bushes or figs with thistles. Different kinds of fruit trees can quickly be identified by examining their fruit. A variety that produces delicious fruit never produces an inedible kind. And a tree producing an inedible kind cant produce what is good. So the trees having the inedible fruit are chopped down and thrown on the fire. Yes, the way to identify a tree or a person is by the kind of fruit produced. Not all who sound religious are really godly people. They may refer to me as Lord, but still wont get to heaven. For the decisive question is whether they obey my Father in heaven. Matthew 7:15-22
