I think he did that as well....is that to ask for a ruling on the judge's original decision. If so, that takes time and they may refuse to hear it.

Please educate me, if I'm wrong. I took the LSAT 23 years ago but I'm no lawyer.

That is correct. SCOTUS could dodge this if they want.

That is why the fight over judicial appointments in the Senate matters and why electing Republicans to the Senate matters.
